Malta is quite crowded right now with all the tourists. Mostly it's 14-16 year olds that come to Malta to learn English (yeah right more like drink 2 beers throw up on themselves and pass out) and for a break from school.

I spent the summer of 1999 in Izmir, Turkey, the third largest city in Turkey located on the Aegean Sea. I spent most of my time in the company of the local Aiesecers, other trainees and other people who lived in the same hostile that we did.

The place of Traineeship is in Ukraine - near Russia. The AIESECers there were really helpful as always - more than anything; they have put me on to a good company, which has a lot of Western Exposure.

After a while, I have many stories to share. I just came back from Belgrade, Iugoslavia, where I participated in the EuroLDS, an AIESEC conference with 240 delegates from 45 different countries around the world.

While speeding on a train from Vienna to Breclav the weight of my situation crashed down upon me. The distance between me and my home in Texas was then greater than it had ever been before.

A New York state of mind...is one that is diverse, is one that is open to new ways of doing & thinking a world where people walk as fast as I do and think faster than I do.

The decision was not easy to make, but more difficult was to get a visa from the yugoslav embassy in Bern...I spent days and days struggling to get it. Let's say that my first contact with the yugoslav burocracy was rather conflictual and discouraging!!
